Explorer HCV repair

I had my HCV break at one of the connections thus forcing almost all of the coolant out of my 97 Explorer 4.0 6cyl. I replaced the HCV but upon starting the car the temp gauge took awhile to move and when it did, it went almost straight to the H mark and I had no hot air coming from the heater. I noticed that the coolant resevoir was bubbling a bit like there may have been some air in the line. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Thanks for any help

No harm intended but you should probably seek pro help. Boiling coolant could easily cause nasty expensive problems, T

You need one of the spill free funnels. They're cheap and easy to use. The heater control valve has to be open when you refill and bleed the cooling system too. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
