Ac no longer working

Ac no longer working Sign In

Hi I have a 2009 chevy traverse 3.6L with about 80000 miles the ac was working and now has shut off when I press the AC button it blinks 3 times then nothing just wanted to know if it's more than just a simple recharge thanks!

Going to guess the blinking then you mean stays off (no led light) means it's out of range in some manner to operate which usually is a low charge but don't mess with that!
There could be other reasons but would if you can look for leaks visually as at the age it really shouldn't have a leak but some can be common? Check the condenser up front of radiator for oil stains especially if but could be anyone roads are sanded or lousy roads everywhere just takes a stone just hitting it wrong and it's leaking or empty.


You could check for empty so before I go on too much on this what A/C equipment do you have and most importantly understand how to use and what you are doing?


I say that because it's an involved trade of it's own and many mistakes happen from just blasting in more refrigerant sold even in cans with junk you don't want and should never use so please don't go there.


What can you do again with what you have on your own?
