2010 Mazda 6 Blowing Hot Air

Hi everyone. I’m having some issues with my 2010 Mazda 6’s AC. About 2 months ago, I was driving on the interstate and a large piece of metal (looked to be the grill of a car or something) went under the car in front of me and then under the right side of my car most likely hitting something around my front right tire. Shortly after that, that area would make an odd rattling sound that has since stopped but also my AC now doesn’t work. The AC would start out blowing cold and then get progressively hotter to where now it is only blowing hot air which leads me to think there’s a refrigerant leak. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be caused by? I’ve already had one mechanic say he wasn’t sure what it was an I would hate to keep having to take it in to places. Thank you all for your help!

You're kidding, right? You expect someone on the internet that has never seen your car to tell you what if anything may have been damaged in the road incident. It may not even be related to that incident. It may not even be low refrigerant. AC repair is not a DIY job. It require specialty knowledge and experience or things can be made far worse. If you refuse to take it to a competent AC specialist, this is all I can offer you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
