2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee A/C compressor function

Trying to found out if a/c compressor is working right in my jeep? Once driving for a while the air on high I turn the fan down to low fan setting and at idle I can hear the ac compressor cycling on and off a few seconds at a time, but once I put it back up a little the compressor stays on. The big question is this normal. I checked the temperature out of the vent on low and it is at 50 degrees with outside temp 85. Does this all sound normal operation. Thanks

Yes, that is completely normal. Less blower makes the evaporator colder and the pressure lower and triggers cycling which the system is designed to do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
