I have a 2005 Cavalier with 2.2 engine. We went through motor last year for something to do with son. We replaced all the timing components, oil pump kit, head redone, installed new lifters. Anyway, now after we have had it completed and 500 mils or so on engine. The engine rattles just like changed the oil after it sits 15-20 minutes. I've found out if i unhook the coil and turn over engine for 15 seconds or so and then reconnect the coil the rattle noise is gone. So I'm assuming that the oil is bleeding down in the pump of maybe a tensioner or lifter. Any ideas so don't have to replace them all again?

Vehicle has new synthetic oil and best GM filter available. Have not checked oil pressure with a gauge yet. Has no codes.

check the oil filter - there is a PIP (almost a TSB) that sounds like issue- #PIP3859A " Recommendation/Instructions: If this is encountered, remove the oil filter and inspect the filter nipple that seats in the oil filter housing portion of the engine block as shown below. If the oil filter nipple is damaged, mis-positioned, or crushed, replace the oil filter with an OEM oil filter and evaluate the concern. I would just replace as checking is removing,
