2000 Chev Blazer Heater Problem Sign In

My 2000 Chev Blazer with A/C has a problem with the heater. The heater air door for the floor will not open. The actuator is moving but, I think it has disconnected from the actual door shaft inside the heater box. Is there a way to fix this without taking the dash apart and removing the heater box?

Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken I think that actual door shaft snaps into the heater box, and would really need either pilars or fingers to get it back into place securly. It is also possible that it may have snapped off and might need some glue or replacement.

Are you able to keep the vent left open?

I am able to turn the plastic linkage/bushing but, the vent door will not open. It seems like there is a disconnect. Perhaps there is a half sprocket, or plastic gear in there?
