Unexpected engine oil leak

I had my car fixed up and ready to be sold.
I posted an ad online locally and a couple contacted me.
We agreed to meet at the parking lot in front of a plaza.
I made sure my car was in good condition and I checked my driveway when I backed out my car. There was no engine oil leak on my driveway.
The location was just 10 minutes drive from my home.
They seems to like it a lot but the husband said he had to check the rear tires and I got down to the ground to check with him.
The wife suddenly went to the driver seat and pop opened the hood without asking me and the engine was still running.
Suddenly, I heard a noise and it sound like something collided with the timing belt. I rushed to the front to check out what happened.
The wife looked the other way. I felt something wrong but not knowing what really happened and I closed the hood immediately.
The husband then asked for a test drive. We drove around in the parking lot and he kept asking questions about the car.
he requested to open the hood again when we returned to the same parking space.
All at a sudden, I can see the timing belt running but has lots of believed to be engine oil. The husband then pointed down a component next to the timing belt saying: Look! You have oil leak.
I said I checked my car and there was no engine oil leak before I meet with them.
He suggested that I should drive to his mechanic the next day for a check and he wanted to know how much it will cost to fix it up.
Of course I never agreed to drive to his mechanic because I felt something was wrong.
Now, here is my problem. I drove my car back home and it started to leak engine oil rapidly. I can see that it leaks between 50 to 100ml every 24 hours.
What happened?
What should I do?

How would we know what happened?
Have the car looked at and find out what it leaking and if there is any visible damage.
Also, post the year, make, model and engine size before you ask any questions about it.
