I have a 2007 Toyota, Camry, the truck is having trouble patching closed.
My engine is 4 cylinder
And it has a bunch of miles on it but I’m sure that won’t matter to the question too much

This shouldn't be too confusing. If it is adjusted properly, then it's just a bad latch.
Is it just not latching securely and popping open or is it electrically being released?
