Car shuts off normally, power stays on (kind of) Sign In

Hello. I have a 2004 Toyota Hilux D4-D. When i turn the car off and remove the key from the ignition the headlights either stay on or they turn off and on repeatedly. The climate control fans and dash lights also stay on. My "solution" thus far has been to just disconnect the batteries whenever i'm not using the car.

Any advice on how to troubleshoot and what to look for would be much appreciated!

This site is based in the US and we haven't had the Hilux here in 20 years so we have no info on it.

Yeah that's fair. Was kind of thinking this could be the kind of problem that could happen to other cars as well. If that makes any sense.

I'm sure it could but first you have to know how your car is wired and what it is equipped with and that info isn't available. Wiring diagrams tell you what to look for.
