Car Door Latch Stuck

I have a 2003 Jeep Wrangler with manual door locks. The passenger door is stuck locked. I managed to get the door panel off and everything is connected as it should be. Pulling the handles will not release the latch. I tried manually moving the lock mechanism and it feels bound up, but it does move. No combination of lock, unlock, handle pull seems to do the trick. The door needs to open if I'm gonna replace the latch mechanism. But I can't replace it until I get the door open. Anyone know what to do in this situation?

Good luck those problems really stink as U know now. Spray the heck out of it up to risking PB (AYOR) may wreck paint. Have a helper pull and push pretty hard while one of you has it in release mode by handles. Also look at other side to see where to spray between just the air gap from outside the stuck one. You can end up needing a door over this so keep trying everything you see make sure rods/levers are really moving if comparing it with another, T

If you look at the picture I supplied, the mechanism at the top of the picture is the lock lever. Something is jammed or bent in that mechanism and that's where you should concentrate your efforts to try to find out where it's jammed so it will unlock. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Thanks. I have sprayed it down with PB blaster already. But I can try having someone push and pull on the door while I hold the handle. I'm afraid I might have to sawsall the door striker to get it open.

Pulling on the door isn't going to help at all. You need to get the lock unjammed in the latch.

The push + pull is if the little spring can't fight sticky or corroded may let go then lube the thing or find it NG toss it for new. Now and for later just lube that stuff as a routine or when at one never have a jam up if so - unknown till you get in said they stink to get right at what you need to now nor see the problem YET no doubt, T
