2011 Honda Fit won't start

I work for the truck stop Pilot. A customer stopped to gas up their Honda fit which he said he had had at the mechanic two weeks prior to his trip and they told him everything was fine. After he pumped gas the car wouldn't start. We tired to jump him off with no success then I gave him a ride to Walmart and he bought a battery. After installing the car tried to start and the engine shook pretty bad and wouldn't turn over. After trying to start it a few times it was almost like the battery was dying again and the car wouldn't even try to start any more. After this he decided his best route was to scrap the car and head home but it was going to take another day for them to pick the car up so he signed the title over to me. I am trying to diagnose the issue and see if it can be fixed for a decent amount of money as the car is in decent shape otherwise. Only 160k miles. Any ideas?

You didn't mention how low on fuel it was when they bought the fuel.
This happens a lot when the car is run very low on fuel and then filled up. The pump is cooled by the fuel and overheats when low on fuel and the sudden cold fuel sometimes seizes the pump motor.
What you can try is getting a rubber hammer or block of wood and rap on the tank while someone tries to start it.
If this works it will likely only be temporary and will eventually need a new pump.

A peice of wood before the tank small enough it's just on tank. Softer wood.
Do as Hammer said use a heavy rubber mallet give it a good whack.
Chance it will go if not doesn't prove much so with just key on "run" test fuel pressure or with helper also hear it buzz - does it or never stops? All clues.
Don't bust the tank beating on it!

Went back to the car yesterday afternoon. Still wouldn't start. Again the first time I turned the key it seemed to want to try to start the motor but after 2 or 3 tries it almost seemed like a dying battery like it didn't have enough power to make the motor realize I had turned the key. Any other ideas?

Battery new or not isn't assured to be good! Easy, watch volts (if no other tools) at battery both posts and U-bolts see what it reads when struggling to turn engine. Never should be below 9V.
This engine may have more troubles than are showing up since or if it won't crank to speed at least find TDC for cylinders (more tools) blow air in empty plug hole see what happens. Must be TDC on tested cylinder or could turn on you?
Listen if all you can do if air blows out intake or exhaust doing that it could be trouble? Hope not,

If the engine doesn't start in the first 5 seconds of cranking, it's not going to start and you can stop cranking. Any more than that only serves to kill the battery and starter.
