2005 Chevy Avalanche 2500 acceleration issues Sign In

Hey there, I have an 05 chevy avalanche 2500 8.1L engine with about 150k on the odemeter. Recently I have had issues after driving for an extended period of time that when I decelerate and then re accelerate I have no juice to do so, my rpms will slowly rise and it takes about 5 seconds and it will snap and preform how it should and consistently as long as I'm accelerating but even if I drop down 1mph it gives me this problem. Now when this happens it maintains the speed at which I slowed down to, it will not decrease speed but will not speed up either and again RPMs rise very slowly if any until it snaps out of it. I do have codes
P0171
P0101
P0174
P0455
P1133
I will address these codes but they seem kind of generic.. but after doing further research I'm finding that others with similar issues have had no check engine light and my check engine has been on for 2 years haha.
I should note also that within the last 2 years sometimes especially when it's cold it will have a rough idle when initially starting and show similar acceleration issues but once it's warmed up seems fine.

This vehicle has not had a tune up either, I plan on replacing plugs wires and distributor but haven't yet..

This did start after a couple long trips but now the issue seems to happen much faster.
Any information or direction will be greatly appreciated and will post updates as I go to further help others!!
Thank you!

And now your car won't run. Gee what a surprise.

Get a fuel pressure gauge and get an accurate reading on the fuel pressure. Also make sure the intake snorkel is firmly attached and not sucking air anywhere.

Oh my: Shrieks of an exhaust problem to me?
Rare engine to me unknown in person insane displacement thing as a Vortec mean also means in others if fuel pressure not also insane high pressure they won't run or run at all. Only OEM GM pumps can last.

Lest we forget that frame rail fuel filter if not cared for and done routinely you add another problem. Gotta love GM= "Government Motors" nothing too stupid left behind,

T
(other just because) - 150K on this is way too much if not a history of serious care?

My exhaust did fall off but if it was an exhaust issue or catalytic converter it wouldn't make sense that I gain power back at 100%right??

Hey it does run haha just kinda crappy but when it snaps out of it it's 100%
I get that maybe it's a fuel thing but why would it only happen when I decelerate? I can step it down and I'll burn rubber but if I have my cruise at 60 and tap my brakes for a second it takes me 5 seconds to get from 59 back to 60mph

I've always changed oil @3000 miles and have never had a major issue. Bought it at 120k

The check engine light is there for a reason, to tell you when there is a problem. Just because you can still drive it doesn't mean you aren't doing harm to it by driving it.

I assumed it was just an evap because my gas cap says it's loose every once in awhile..

Well, it's pretty obvious you were wrong. Only one of the 5 codes is EVAP related. The rest are fuel mixture codes and a MAF code. That's why I told you to check the things I did.

Yes! Back pressure could be more then just converter. Aftermarket ones might not meet specs.

IDK, old phart here would be checking vacuum details or exhaust pressure details both hard on this thing. DIYers come here thinking of a way to test stuff and pin it down for you give me a moment to read your mind??
