What sound is my car making? Exhaust trouble? Sign In

I have a:

2002 Nissan Altima 2.5l 4-cyl with around 150k miles on it.

Recently I had my P0138 (Bank 1 Sensor 2 O2 Sensore Voltage) code come on in my car. I've been having trouble with power loss and my gas mileage being reduced. I recently replaceced my Pre-Cat and it seemed to fix the power loss, but now I'm getting a definite putter or possibly a knock coming from the engine when under load. I've included a video so you can kind of hear what I'm hearing. Anyone know what I'm dealing with here?

Thanks in advance!

That code does not refer to pre-cat sensor. It's a downstream sensor.

There are two sensors built into my pre-cat...cat? My car has two catalytic converters. The pre-cat (a converter built directly into my exhaust manifold) has two O2 sensors attached two it. One above the catalyst (upstream) and one below the catalyst (downstream).

Sounds like an exhaust leak to me. Maybe when you brake torque the engine an exhaust part moves and leaks. Possible flex pipe?
