Need advice on Broken exhaust pipe Sign In

I am considering purchasing a Ford Focus SE in Houston. There is only one issue that came up in the inspection. The exhaust pipe is separated. The dealer is willing to give me a $400 reduction in price. I found an Austin muffler shop that says it is an easy welding repair for $50. Here is my question. If that is all that is wrong with it and test driving it detected no power loss or driving irregularities, can I simply drive it as is for 126 miles safely to get it back to Austin? I am also considering buying some thermal exhaust rated tape and reconnecting it temporarily for the drive. Does that sounds OK or am I way off base?
Thanks in Advance for any information or advice.

I had to remove your picture as it was way too large and making the thread too hard to read. Please reduce the size dramatically if you wish to repost it.

That is not just a small leak, the pipe is entirely separated from the resonator and i would not drive a long distance like that, nor would I try to tape it back together. Not only would it be bad for the engine to drive it that way but the exhaust fumes could get into the passenger compartment and kill you.

Yes, it looks like it would be rather easy to weld it back together and you should have that done locally before the trip home.
