Kia Cat Converter Code Sign In

Hello. New to this. I have a 2009 Kia Spectra. My flex pipe has a tear in it and part of the exhaust pipe has a crack. The check engine signal appears on my dashboard. When Autozone connected their code reader it says I need a new Cat Converter. Im just wondering if the tear in the flex pipe and the crack in the exhaust pipe are the problem sending off the Cat Converter code or do I really need a Cat Converter?

Re: Kia Cat Converter Code Sign In

Fix the pipe and code will or likely go away. A leak in those will do that hurry to fix it or code will mean harm to converter. Not so fast as codes are not quite that clever converter just can't do it's job without the other fixed,

Yes, that is definitely related to that exhaust leak. Get that leak sealed up and clear the codes.
