Nissan Maxima 95 shakes while in gear and in stop!! Sign In

I bought this 95 Maxima a year ago and after a few months, it suddenly started shaking.Got the car checked, the guy said it may have been due to spark plugs. Now after an year, the shaking had gotten worse,it shakes violently when in gear and is in stop.As i give it a little gas it still shakes but after picking up some speed...the shaking goes away. Last weekend, i took it to a local meechanic who said two of its fuel injectors had to be replaced with new ones. He did the job (costed me 350$ - each fuel injector costed me 100$. Also I got all of the plugs changed with new ones). The car stopped shaking and was back to smooth ride. Today after two days of smooth ride, the car started shaking a little while in gear and when put to stop. Took it to the same mechanic, he opened the hood, did something and told me that another fuel injector has to be changed. At that time, I noticed some gas(in liquid form) in underneath the fuel injector.
Now I don’t know what to do…I think the guy didn’t do the job right. I NEED HELP DESPARATELY…

No harm meant to your mechanic but if the fuel leak was at one of the new ones the problem belongs to the mechanic. Injectors aren't cheap. I get parts wholesale and they still cost a fortune!

Not to tell your mechanic what to do but vacuum leaks are more common for your complaint. That and a plug wire, plug or coil/coilpack seem to be more common. New parts can fail too! If I drop a spark plug - I mark that cyl and if it isn't perfect that one goes!! Get the fuel leak taken care of at a minimum. Good luck, T

Now i have confirmed that one of the fuel injectors have leaked...the leaked fuel injector is one of the three which are in the front... and i really am unable to see if the leaked fuel injector is the one that he replaced.

Some one emailed me that i should call Nissan Dealership to see if i qualify for a free repair for the fuel injectors because "there was a nation wide recall on nissan maxima for fuel injectors".

I am in a position where im just looking desparately for HELP and advice .
I am a student who is not into repairing cars and stuff (think i should be from now on) so this situation is just depressing for me.

Cars can be a real pill. Check for recalls. Some are silent - meaning they wait for complaints. Have your VIN # ready and call Nissan directly. I drive all the time in a car with 7 orig injectors, the one I replaced was a guess and NOT the problem 100,000 miles ago - now has 207,000 and runs like a top. Bought it from my favorite customer. I'll never see 300K as my parts store and groceries are about 1.2 miles away. $10.00 gas doesn't even scare me!! It's not good for the economy though.!! Good luck getting things right, - T
