Hello there,

My car is a Ford Fiesta 1.4 LGP 2009 (194k km)
and it had an issue in the engine compartment where the mechanic changed the spark plug “freeze plug” because coolant was leaking into where the spark plugs are located, my car was running bad if I accelarated quickly and took it to high rpms, it would start to vibrate too and lose power. After the mechanic did the change it worked for a couple of minutes and I had the issue with the power again so I took it back, he replaced the spark plugs and the wires and it worked fine for a few weeks, now I am having the issue again, I removed the spark plug wire to check and I saw coolent pooling on the spark plug. My question is, could it be another freeze plug or my head is thinking could it be the intake manifold or the head gasket?

If a photo is needed I can post one later on, just let me know.

Thank you.

This car isn't sold to the US in its version so back to basics I'll try.
The cooling system not holding pressure if you see it leaking for any reason is multiple problems. Clearly for right now it's grounding out the spark at the boot and plug itself you said from a "freeze plug" tells me that's a source to be fixed for all most likely the same problem is probably with all of them.

I can't know so pics if you can might help. If one replaced hope it was saved it would show if rotted out from outside or inside many will not pop out just because ill named for freeze protection is not what they are for.
They may if frozen but not save an engine still can crack. Find out what now another looks like to even begin to save this engine!
More likely they somehow rotted/corroded. It matters how those are going bad. Lack of changing engine coolant or use of plain water used nothing liquid cooled can take it as that prevents corrosion from inside and other benefits.
It also means system can't hold pressure can be quickly destructive to impossible to save that engine - this is serious stuff.
I doubt it matters I'm just curious what "LGP" means in the car's name? Is this liquid petroleum gas for fuel?
IF you can pics of the failed and leaking parts would help that's got to be fixed for ALL OF THEM most likely,

So basically LGP is installed in a car or from the car company or it can be fitted later on. My car can run both on LGP and Gas(petrol). It gives less power output but it is cheaper and safer for the environment. A litre of LGP will cost me 0.83€ instead of 1.79€ for the gas. (€ = euros) I’m from Italy btw.
I’ll try and make photos today and send it here, thanks again for the help.

That same reply came out twice - this site is at fault for that? Just let it go when you get the error page it did go thru.

One other thought while here is perhaps the coolant showing is from a hose (heater?) or another carrying coolant. It's rare but some can spray such a fine line you can't see it yet find the coolant where it wouldn't be. I've had several fool me look like a spider web strand with high light then put paper in the path see it get wet!

Those can just quit doing that and reoccur so work on it makes some repair seem like that was it but wasn't.

I'll remove the second duplicate post it's not your fault come back next post and look for your thread again see that it's there,

Tom

Unfortunately I am not able to send a photo here, somehow the login on the photo management site isn’t working for me… how can I reach you on some other platform?

No, we don't communicate outside of the platform. The imaging host works fine

What are you trying to show with a pic? It's a coolant issue/leak put this exact car under pressure and see where it comes out.

Does it hold pressure now by itself just from warming up feel the largest hose before and after if it has pressure in it. If not this leak is excessive could be hidden looking right at it.

If that's the case pull spark plugs to see if it's going inside one or more will either be wet or cleaner than others at least different.

Certain engine layouts do seal off plugs and there's coolant nearby it would or should show if you just put pressure on it knowing it's really full of coolant,

Sorry for 2nd post on same I did find layout of this engine distributor to the usual driver's side (right) as seen from the front.

Lots of plastic to cover just what goes where and holds clearly A/C lines then several IDK for sure lines.

This must at least have a heater so coolant is passing all around not sure if all rubber or metal to rubber in places. Those are leak items of many.

Other is since water pumping is from the left side as seen from the front or passenger's side for Italy.

Naturally it must make a system to get cooled coolant to the far end AND keep coolant inside engine a uniform temp so some hose or passage is made to do that. It wasn't clear by hose so other engines may use intake manifold parts or use that to run a line.

Not sold here but found this one. Pictures too close IMO in all pics I saw so what is already said stands.

Put it under pressure and look everywhere. Plugs in center up top the complaint is wet and grounding out there the issue is why wet with coolant apparently.

That will plain have to be witnessed, dried off there watch it come back again.

BTW real EG coolant even if colorless if mixed 50/50 will not dry out fast plain water if the reason would.

It's escaped lasting repair so probably is hard to verify but that's the end answer - find it with a pressure tester do it cold testers show what they are at will drop if leak is fast and not so fast if real slow but make evidence or this problem wouldn't be there at all,

Sorry for the novel/book at this but that's how you find this type of leak. Yes it might only leak fully warmed up or quit but have to say do it when real cool (engine) or cold don't burn yourself and expect coolant to gush back perhaps leak out where attached at pressure cap using a pressure tester,

Tom
