'67 AM Rambler; starts, stalls, won't start..

I've got a '67 AM Rambler American (A summer driver) which lives in my carport under a car-cover during the winter months. Every 2-3 weeks I'll start it up, drive it up and down the driveway a few times. Everything was fine up 'till about two months ago.
I started it up, and after running for a minute, it stalled. It started again, but with difficulty, and stalled quickly. Several times since I've started it up, and sometimes it will start perfectly and run for anywhere from 30 seconds to 2-3 minutes when it stalls. Once it stalls, it DOESN'T want to start again, although you can hear it trying.
My first thought was water in the gas, but that proved not to be the case. Checking the plugs reveals them to be wet, so I'm happy that fuel is being pumped up. The plugs themselves aren't pristine, but they aren't fouled either.
If it wouldn't start at all, I could understand it, but the sometimes start, and stall thing has me puzzled. Thoughts?

From your description it sounds as if you are having carburator problems. First check the choke pull off to see if it is working. That is a diaphram on the side of the carb that opens the choke butterfly slightly to let more air pass.As the car warms up the choke thermostat takes over and operns the butterfly completely. If that is ok look down into the carb when it stalls and if you see vapor boiling out you may have dirt in the needle and seat, or a sinking float. At this point I would rebuild the carb. I prefere to rebuild my own but sometimes the throttle shaft is worn to the point that they create a vacume leak and just dont turn out right. On a car this age and being a Rambler you will likely have difficulty finding parts and someone old enough who will remember the tricks of setting up a carb.
