2004 chevy express van 5.3L idle speed

I have a 2004 Chevy Express Van with a 5.3L engine with 85,000 miles that just started reving from idle to about 3,500 rpms for a second or two. This is a conversion van driven only by my wife. need help badly. Thanks for any advice.

step 1 scan for codes- yes even if the CEL is off.
Waiting for that info you could look for a vacuum leak after the TB (throttle body).
