Hi there everyone I,m just curious what is the difference between o2 sensor and air fuel ratio sensor.

Both air/fuel ratio (wide band) and regular O2 sensor (narrow band) are both called O2 sensors. A narrow band O2 sensor produces its own voltage and a wide band is powered by current from the engine computer.

There is plenty of information on the internet about the different types of O2 sensors and their theory of operation.

Some manufacturers call it one thing and some call it another. What matters is if it needs to be replaced. Here's an easy way to tell.

If a professional driveability technician tells you it needs bo be replaced, it does and you should buy a factory sensor if you want the car to run right.

If some kid popping zits behind the counter of Advance Auto Parts just did a free code scan and wants to sell you a bunch of Bosch sensors by saying the code means that is what you need, you don't.
