2004 Explorer 4.0 L overhead valve 105,000+ miles The engine runs and starts just fine check engine light is on, I hooked it up to an OBD2 car Reader the reader reports fuel system to lean cylinder Bank 2 (trouble: code PO174) and fuel system to lean cylinder bank 1 (trouble: code PO171) now my question is what can cause this problem any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are lots of things that cause an engine to run too lean but on a Ford the most common cause is a vacuum leak Listen for a hissing noise and follow it to it's source. If you happen to be using a K&N air filter, you may have trashed your MAF. PS, I deleted your duplicate question. One is sufficient. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
