First i would say i am a new member.Looks like a great place to read. Now,i,ve purchased a 1997 jeep cherokee sport.and would like to know how to read the codes.I have 1994 blazer but of corse their diff.Can anyone help. This may also to the forum. THANKS in advance to all.

Word has it that the chain store Auto-Zone will do a scan for you. For many vehicles 1995 and older there are some cheap ones you can buy for 20 bucks but have to do a lot of reading because you are really buying a book - but I've had luck with them. Do you have a current "check Engine" or "Service Engine soon" light that either flashes or stays on? If so - post as much as you know about it AND how the veh runs - well or not, it can help with a fix. Good luck,
