P1451 means the engine computer detected a circuit problem for the EVAP canister vent solenoid. This basically means there is an electrical problem with the canister vent soleniod circuit. This could be an open or short in the circuit, an open or short in the canister vent soleniod coil windings, or no circuit control from the engine computer. First thing you should is a visual inspection of the canister vent solenoid, wiring, connector, and terminals inside the connector and solenoid. If all that looks good, your going to have to break out the volt( VOM) meter and possibly some jumpers. You also need something to back probe the connector on the vent solenoid, so you can do some voltage drop measurements. The only thing you won't be able to do is to test the engine computer's ability to ground the circuit. You need a scanner that has bi directional control, but hopefully it doesn't come to that. The solenoid valve is located on top of the charcoal canister underneath the vehicle aft of the fuel tank, number 9. Not sure what you mean. The engine controller is flagging a code for an electrical problem in the vent solenoid circuit. You shouldn't have to worry about finding EVAP leaks or other EVAP issues not related to the code....just yet. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

To be honest with you, that thing is rittled with bugs. You could use a hosting site such as photobucket or others. Then paste the link to your pic in here. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

this link should show you my picture https://docs.google.com/...Ih1gHdtZImeyfam8/pub See if I can make that show direct for you........ Got enough rust there to mess it up alone. Connector doesn't look so special either - I can't see how any code is going to go away without that stuff intact, T

That is definitely the canister vent solenoid valve. Looks like your in the rust belt. If you have an ohm meter, measure the resistance of the solenoid. You can also take that valve and bench test it by applying battery and ground to each terminal in the valve's connector socket. The valve should click when power is applied to it. so it was at 59.8 on the ohms meter but i found a wire that was broke off and i cant reconnect the wires because it broke of right at the point it connects to the plastic connector, if that made sense

A broken wire is definitely going to cause your issue. That valve looks really sad. Probably wouldn't hurt to replace it if possible. Factory specs is 48 to 65 ohms. You should still bench test it by applying power and ground to see if it is functional if you want to keep it. Looks like it came off the Titanic....lol As for the wiring, there are actually connector pigtails available for that or you can hack one off at a salvage yard.
