Buick century 05 aftermarket fog light mounting Sign In

So i deal with a lot of early morning driving, valleys and so fog..at times very dence fog..got a question i hope someone can answer....got a set of fog lights for my make and model car that mount in the front bumper. Only way i can see how to mount the lights is cut out plastic, is that normal? They seem to have spots to drill out, tap and mount them to metal plates, but im not sure if having to cut out the plastic is normal. Any ideas here?

IDK your pain tolerance for drilling up and where? If you REALLY need them (I don't almost ever) think of low and if the amber color is allowed where you are. It's white light that doesn't travel as far can blind you back.
Low almost means also expect to bust them on things, parking or whatever cars aren't very high for ages,

Sadly, i have had many mornings and nights i wish i had them. Im in Pa, far as i can find, yellow lights are only allowed on fog lights. The lights are low but are covered by the bumper. cartype.com/pics/6342/full/buick_century_05.jpg. If you can see the pic they mount directly under the headlights in those lil cubbys on the left and right.

See if pics of that show? It may not even show an X that it didn't?

I don't see "under" anything in that picture? Not the point so far, that car shows IMO brighter DRLs, some are amber. Not so sure that would achieve what you are after as shown rather be seen by others.

Other thing to think about is wiring! The less you mess with this the better. I'd think about powering them with low beam request then a toggle (lighted dash switch) run to give them ground when wanted so at least they would go out when headlights are off passively.
LED single row is low profile find the spot you want also means make sure it's not just Styrofoam behind there those bumpers are just a façade not very real do hide a support beam for a crash not really to bump things it damages easily.
I'd also run wire leaving most of the car's wiring intact LEDs use so little it can handle that.

A question for you about seeing in fog: Have you been in another vehicle that had fog lights and find it worked? I'm in MA, inland a little so less of a problem by chance. Ocean front of COLD water here does fight with warm "land" air can come in (just morning news stuff) on heavily traveled roads in sight of ocean.
I ask what you expect? It doesn't mean you can drive as normal if you can't see well now others can't either at some point traffic just slows down to a crawl and that's the way it goes?

It's not unusual for manufacturers to have different parts like bumpers for cars equipped with and without features like fog lights.
