Brake lights stay on even when car is off

Hey, I have a 2005 Kia Amanti and for the past few days I've noticed I've needed a jump almost every time the car has been sitting for up to 30 minutes. I then noticed that my brake lights do not go off and so I proceeded to replace the brake switch. No matter how I adjust the brake switch, the brake lights stay on unless I completely unplug the switch. Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.

This was likely a 10 cent fix. There is a plastic button that the switch lands against and they deteriorate and fall off. You probably found it on the driver's side floor. You can get a new button from the dealer or I sometimes just glue a penny there and it does the job. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I Just used the penny trick in the brake light switch and it worked for me as well.
