2002 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1 L 295000-ish KM So I got the car in June of 2023, and I noticed that the blower motor would work only sometimes, I paid no mind to it, until now. Recently it's been getting cold where I am and I figured I should try using the heat (shocker I know), as previously I had given up on it, and left it set at off after a month or so of it not turning on. A few days after cranking it to max and having nothing, I go to start my car. Lo and behold an ungodly screech coming from under my dash. With this for some reason I again paid no mind shrugged, shook my head, and shifted to reverse to begin going to work, and it stopped immediately after I shifted into reverse, with the blower working. Since then it's been rather reliable in comparison to the past, however there are a few quirks still. quirk one, before the ungodly screech that fixed the blower itself I'd imagine I noticed that at night my automatic headlights would be sometimes affected by the blower dial I could do it one time and we'd get mild comedy with the lights other times nothing. Now however post screech that only happens when the blower decides to quit. Quirk two, is that now that the blower isn't seized or something anymore (that's what I'm guessing the screech was) it only quits the 2nd time I start the car after the automatic lights come on. so to elaborate I'll come home from work and the automatic lights turn on as I pull into the driveway and later ill start the car again and things will go smoothly nothing wrong I go where I need to go and do what I to do and when i go to start the car again the blower quits and doesn't start again until the morning when I go to work. I've checked all the fuses that could possibly be related I'm going to check relays tomorrow, I am just at a loss as to what this could possibly be, and figured this would be an interesting one to share. Please feel free to offer any advice or thoughts on the matter, and thanks for the time.

You heard the blower motor screech and then just though everything is fine now?

Don't bet on that. First replace the blower motor and then see what's left.
