This car has been sitting for two years, please help it is going to waste and only requires a relatively simple solution. 1999 Mercedes Classe A 1.9 litre 107,982 kilometres / 67,000 miles Car was parked, next day I tried turning it on and it wouldn’t start, I took it to an official Mercedes repair shop and they did their analysis and said that the piece A168 820 02 26 needed to be replaced, this is the immobiliser I believe. Could you guys please help, we ordered a replacement part, what do you think is the necessary procedure to move forward? Mercedes wouldn’t fix it. Thank you in advance for your reply.

Quote ">Mercedes wouldn’t fix it.<" !! That says a lot. Seems like a waste for a low mile old car but are historically money pits and a lot of people would just toss anything at them to fix them up. Sitting for two years doesn't do anything a favor no telling what hidden other issues it will have. Always your call but not for the timid at costs on this project car now IMO, T

Thank you for taking time to reply. They don't want to get involved because they don't have any official parts for it but I ordered the immobiliser module it'll be here in a couple of days, I read that you can just disconnect the immobiliser and the car will start? (without it's security features but we are willing to take that risk as we doubt someone will try stealing it) what do you think?

I understand but if we could fix it for 100 euros or so it would be great, it'll be cheap and it'll prevent wastage
