It's a 2008 Rondo LX-V6, like an Optima in most mechanicals. The window always works fine for down/open, but then when buttoned to close up it only makes it about 3/4 and then goes to down/open. So far fiddling with the button a few times gets it to close, but the day is coming for failure. Any ideas for my local garage (I can't do car work) or is it a dealer visit?

This should be something your local shop can handle provided they are experienced in electrical work as this will require some extensive testing to determine what is causing it to reverse. It could be binding in the channel causing the auto up feature to reverse thinking someone or something is caught in the window or it could be just weak switches.

Thanks, I'll avoid the dealer first.
