A friend of my mother said that he could put a new head unit in my car. When he put the new unit in, the rear and front left speakers didn't work. Not a crackle, not a pop... nothing... I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations as to what to check, or what is likely to be the problem, and how to fix it if possible. 2001 - Year of vehicle Dodge - Make of vehicle Stratus - Model of vehicle 2.4L (146) DOHC SMPI 16-VALVE 4-CYL - Engine 190328 Miles - Mileage Thank you so much!

The most likely problem is that he didn't know what he was doing and it's wired wrong which should never happen because the wires should never be cut. They make adapter cables that plug and play. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

He didn't use an adapter. He cut the original adapter off, and stripped and connected cables, and capped them.

That's a total hack job. Your only hope now is to get it to a stereo shop to put back together and hope he didn't burn anything out with crossed wires.
