My 98' Ford Ranger recently had issues with startup... These were related to almost having no gas in the tank. After a while, it started and I drove to the nearest gas station... But I noticed the radio no longer worked. Why would this happen and how would I fix it?

I doubt there is any connection. You'll just have to check all the fuses and if they are all good, then it's likely internal to the radio. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

the operative word here is check ALL fuses. almost all radios now require two power sources before they will work.
