Loud Chirping/Whirring Noise under heavy acceleration Sign In

Looking for some input:

2014 Chevy Silverado, 5.3 LTZ with 88k miles. While driving regularly, no noise is heard. However, when I put my foot to the floor, I can hear a high pitched chirping noise that stops as soon as I let off the accelerator. My first thought was a belt or tensioner, but I was a little put off by the fact that it only happens when I put my foot to the floor. Any experience I've had with belts going bad you can hear any time you accelerate.

Any input appreciated. Linked to video of noise

That very possibly could be ignition detonation (ping)

I would try a different fuel with higher octane.

If it is determined to be ignition pinging, other things to check would be the operation of the EGR valve.

Also check for any stored trouble codes in the computer.
