When I drive my car and press on the gas it makes a weird knocking noise. The noise only comes when the gas is pressed in the beginning and sometimes when slowing. Do you have any idea of what it might be. I have 1999 Chevy Caviler. Thanks

Nosha, Does this noise come from the engine, or does it sound like its under the car or near a wheel? Any more information will make it easier to trouble shoot your problem.

This is the coolest spot on the web - "Funny Noises" which is difficult but a big deal. You said a knock, I know they are hard to describe. Further questions, Ideas: *Some exhaust parts can rust and make noise, I would call them rattles, but can you check that out to rule it out? *You said you can hear this on deceleration which kind of rules out spark knock, or detonation. Check for loose air cleaner parts and things underhood. *Any recent repairs or work? Those are areas to look. * Of course make sure oil and fluids are full and correct. *Does braking or cornering have any effect? Good luck, we're here to help. If you feel it's dangerous please get some local help. T
