Cricket noise in passenger front side Sign In

I purchased a new 2017 Chrysler 300 two months ago. I've brought the car back to dealership, but they have not been able to solve the issue.

The problem occurs at high speeds around the 60mph-70mph when I travel long distances. The faster I go, the more prevalent the noise - wind issue?
On cruise control, I can hear noise going down hill - wind issue?
When I open the glove box the sound is louder - ???
When I cross lanes, the line markers (the round bumps) amplify the sound too - suspension issue?
When I travel to one of my offices 7 hours away, the noise will be going non-stop for 90% of the trip which I can't drown out with the radio.

Any help on what might be causing the noise would be greatly appreciated.

Your link states the video is unavailable on my machine.

Us independents probably haven't seen any of the 2017 in our shops yet and service info is limited. May need to have the dealer keep trying to figure out what it is. Usually if the techs can't figure it out, the factory will send an engineer out.

Thank you for your response. I'm not a huge Youtube navigator, but I think I figured out how to make the video public. Did it work this time?

Re: Cricket noise in passenger front side Sign In

I couldn't hear it enough but even heard the "clop" of concrete highways not used where I am so good enough!
That seems so faint dealer probably will blow you off and it shouldn't be there, some road some wind "awareness" for sure.

Here's what I've done with wind specific noises and found them. Takes quality painter's tape and seal the windshield and fender to hood gaps. Go for a ride and see if it quit. If so remove one section at a time to pin where to go looking.

If no change there's still air coming in and down where wipers are so harder but block that off but now can't use any heat or A/C shut that off see what you get and same tricks if there that isn't it, if gone remove some at a time hoping for an area to go to.

When you can get a tech to ride with you can cause it to duplicate in hopes they take it seriously and find it. Stinks - new vehicle you shouldn't be working on it yourself unless totally obvious like something found from shipping it nobody noticed - paper or foam or who knows? Good luck,

T

I could hear it. Has the dealer been able to hear the noise? Sounds like it is inside the vehicle. Squeaks and rattles can be difficult. If the tech is dedicated enough and being compensated by the dealer for the clock time, he/she should be able to find it. Could be anything from a bracket rubbing to pinch weld issue. Id keep taking it back until someone figures it out.

Re: Cricket noise in passenger front side Sign In

Dealer has heard the noise. I re-created the noise for both the Service Director and the Technician. The first time they said they replaced some brackets. I don;t think they did anything the 2nd time because the mileage didn't change, nor did they have a solution.

Thank you for your time in helping me.
