Very bizarre. Started recently. I am getting a thumping noise sometimes when hitting the brakes mostly going downhill. If I am on flat or incline I can literally slam on the brakes and I get no sound at all. No grinding. No anything. Car was inspected a month and a half ago and had no issues. I went to Autozone to see if any codes came up in regards to brake system. Nothing. Only code had to do with emissions. Any idea what could be causing noise? I took video. You can hear the noise in background. It sounds louder to my ears in car than it did on here https://youtu.be/VIZGA2FVryI

Couldn't hear anything in that video. It may not be brake parts exactly at all? That leaves a total brake inspection for calipers and wear on pins or too much motion of brake parts. Don't rely on a ordinary inspection like an annual basic check of broken or clearly worn items to catch everything possible with a car. Get the #s for that emissions code which should have failed you if present for a sticker and post that and or just get than fixed whatever it is, T
