Hi All, I have an '07 Lexus ES330 with 120K miles on it. A few months ago, I started getting this loud rattling noise that sounded like it was coming from the front passenger side wheel. It seemed to be most prominent on uneven roads though turning, braking and accelerating had no impact. Also, it doesn't seem to happen on the highway or at high speeds (maybe over 50) but otherwise it would sometimes sound like the wheel is about to come off. I took it in to the auto shop and they replaced the lower control arm. The problem seemed mostly fixed when i left the shop though within a week there was a noise again, just not nearly as bad. Now, several weeks later, it's back to how it was. Any ideas on what I should suggest to the mechanic to look for? I spent $1,000 the first time and am not eager to do the same especially considering they didn't fix a thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

#1 - Make sure wheel is tight - all of them if need be. #2 - Take it back if you asked for a noise to be found and fixed and wasn't? That may or may not open a Pandora's box? #3 - See if wheel trim is loose if any and or swap wheels around and see if noise follows wheels an any trim? It's that one. Other: Check by feel stabilizer pins (if equipped) and other things loose by hand. Tap with rubber hammer in safe spots and see if you can make the noise sitting still. Too common around where I am is the low plastic air damns or inner fender plastic just isn't on right or plain broken and worth a check. I would hope with a complaint like that the tech/shop made sure front end parts including suspension items were all good? T
