Hi everybody Several months ago I notice a dent on the quarter panel on my 2006 mk2 focus , I only noticed it the day after picking my car up from my mechanic friend where it had been for over a week for repairs. The dent can be seen more easily because my car is black, you see it more often when the sun shines on it or any kind of light. I told my friend without trying to appear to rude that the dent most certainly occurred sometime during being parked by his house but he didn't really seem to want to admit that it happened there. Anyway back to the dent, I haven't really seen one like it before, it is sort of a line, about 10 cm long and about 2 mm thick, it's like somebody has drawn a line with a pen, that's how thin the dent is. any idea what cause be the cause and if it can be erased? thanks

a dent happens when something strikes the area hard enough to change the shape. yes the 'panel' can be repaired or replaced if necessary. See a professional automotive body technician for his recommendation.
