Solstice locks me in and out of car

Hi I have a 2007 Pontiac Soltice GXP. A few weeks ago I opened the drivers side door and went to close it and it would not close. Eventually after messing around with the lock buttons it closed. Now my passenger side and drivers side either lock me in the car or lock me out of the car. When I am locked in when I pull on the handle it feels like it is not connected to anything it is just loose. Then when I finally get out and go to close the door the door wont close eventually I can get it closed. What the heck is wrong with my car??? It only has 29,000 miles on it and already it is giving me issues....anyone else have this problem or have a clue as to why I cannot get out of my own car? It is both passenger and driver side and it is everyday.

Was there any recent work done inside the driver's door before this started happening? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

The Pontiac turned General Lee. Sounds like a latch problem if the door won't latch when you close it. Someone or yourself is going to have to remove the driver's side door panel and do a visual of the latch assembly and rods to see if there is anything out of kilter. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

There is a door lock actuator built onto the latch assembly, but usually a door lock actuator won't cause the door to not latch when it is closed. A bad actuator will cause the latch to not lock or unlock. Latch, unlock, and lock mean different things. Latch means the door closes shut and the striker is held by the latch arm, so you can't open the door with pulling the handle when the latch is in the unlock position. Lock and unlock allows the latch arm to release or not release when you pull the handle. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I am beginning to think it is something with the computer. When I start the car and start to drive normally the seat belt thing will go off if I dont have it on, today it did nothing. I got home went to get out of the drivers side and of course had floppy handle so jumped over to the passenger side that worked today. So I get out key in hand and I realize my radio is still on??? What the crap?? Radio on with no key in the car, doors locking me in and out and a seat belt alert that stopped working.....this car hates me

Yep, they have a lot of trouble with the BCMs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

The latch and actuator are one assembly. Each one is about $131.67 from the dealer. They give you 1.3hr to install one. Two would be 2.6 hr. Part $263.34 Labor if $100/hr =$260 Total without tax $523.34 They are about right for the estimate. If it is water intrusion that caused the latch/actuator assemblies to go bad, that has to be repaired or you'll run into the same problem again. One thing about convertibles, they all leak. Nope not a flood vehicle it was the owner of the dealerships car. It is a huge well known dealer in our area. It only had 9,000 miles when we bought it. They said it could be because we drive it in the winter and we get a crap ton of snow.

Hopefully you don't drive it with the top down while it is snowing...LOL J/K Most doors have drains, but if your getting salted road snow water into the interior of the door it would be understandable for things to get corroded in there.
