speedometer cable Can't Post

I've been trying to fix the speedometer in my '84 f150 but I can't figure out how to remove it from the transmission and the meter in the interior. Does anyone know anything that might help me?

84 is a speedo cable right? What is it not doing?

Cable comes out of case at the speedometer dial end in most cable styles not the trans end. Some with cruise cable goes to an intermediate device and cable comes out of case there. Cable types should undo at the trans and you can spin them with a drill to see if it turns to read speed and clock mileage,
