99 suburban power steering problem Can't Post

I went to turn the wheel to the left to bleed the calipers. When I went to turn the wheel to the right it is now hard to turn in any direction. So hard I don't think it can drive. What happened?

Any noise? PS fluid full? If full it could be a front end part binding or a problem with the pump. These front end parts use grease fitting which get ignored way too often - especially the idler arm where it's near impossible to grease without removing a splash shield and also steer the vehicle to get to top of pitman arm. Don't even think the quick lube place are doing these in the 10 minute oil change service - they about couldn't.

I suggest regreasing the front end parts yourself and know it's done and turn it both ways fully again a couple times. I'd also try and use a product called Trans-X which can disolve gum built up in hot fluids that use ATF which PS in most vehicles do. It may be too late.

Certainly make sure FE parts are safe. If any steering damper is used that could be a problem too. I don't think they are used originally but may be an aftermarket installed??

If it gets going again I'd also suggest changing the PS fluid - something most of us don't do with any routine and probably should,
