After going for an oil change with my 97 lesabre . check engine light stays on. They initially overfilled with oil and now the damn light stays on. I tried to disconnect battery and that does not work. drained oil to proper level and light stays on. How do I get the light to shut off.

Just exactly how overfilled was it? This happened right away with this - right? Is it running ok now to at least get a code reading which is there if it didn't reset it's still there with info for you.....

Get the code reading as Tom suggested...

You can look at the air filter housing and /or air intake duct ,there is an Intake air Temperature sensor there (IAT)
These are always left disconnected by oil change places...they disconnect them when they check/replace the air filter and forget to reconnect them
