What is the best way to verify if a this car only needs a battery, or if the altenator is failing. I replaced both approximately 2 years ago and the problem of the battery being discharged has surfaced again. Any suggestions out there.

Check operating voltage for a beginning and charge battery with a charger not just the car,

You also may have a current draw that is running the battery down.
