I have had the same problem with my S-10. It is a 99' 4.3 vortec, and i replaced may things. The fuel filter, punched out the cat, fuel pump, throttle position sensor, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Still it was cutting out and would die going down the road. I took it to a garage and got the P0101 code. So then I pulled my mass air flow sensor off and saw that there was build up on the transistors. I took it inside and cleaned the transistors with rubbing alcohol. Let it dry, then put it back in and it has made a 100% improvement. The Service Engine Soon light was on for awhile after, but then went out on its own. This may be your solution unless transistor are damaged or broken
