advice on buying a new truck Quote | Reply

if you have read anything in the "engine trouble" threads, you would know that my honda accord took a dump on me. so it is time to buy a new vehicle.

i am looking to get a truck. my main sticking points are size and gas mileage. i'm 6'3", 300 lbs, so i need something that is fairly roomy. i also need something that i can fit a wife and a kid in as well.

so far, it looks like a nissan frontier is about what i am wanting. from what i am reading, their gas mileage is still around 18-20 mpg, which isn't too bad for a truck, plus i can get one in a crew cab.

does anyone have any advice on what to look for? i am looking in the 25-30k range, and am looking for a 2007 model (maybe 2008 depending on the price). anyone have any advice on warranties and whatnot? like i said, i want the best mileage i can get (without getting a tiny ford ranger).

any hints or things to think about are appreciated.

My advice is to buy what you like. If you like the Frontier, by all means purchase it. I have been a General Motors person for 40 years, but this year I bought a Ford due to price. Got a hell of a deal on the 2007 F150. So now I am driving a Ford. Good luck and hope you enjoy your new vehicle. I would look on line and search the net for warranties on various makes.

I dont know what your requirements are exactly but have you considered an electric truck?

You could look at:
