I have a 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. I am looking for an exploded diagram of the engine components. Even a top view of the engine would help.
I have some extensive work to do on it, and there's a lot of parts and hoses to keep up with. I have searched the web for days and can find nothing. Any clue were I might find what I'm looking for?

That car was available with at least one six and just only the 307V8 which I know fairly well. 1982 and 1984 are different. AllData would probably have all the info and diagrams you are looking for. The carbs were real tricky that year and fussy about being just right. Vacuum hosing is colored with stripes and a diagram if legible was on the radiator cowl. Vacuum lines are critical for this to run well. Do anything you can NOT to break the plastic ports for vacuum hoses as they will be difficult to get about now and I've never been able to glue one back up with any success. If you remove any, take an exacto knife and split the hose and carefully peel it off and just replace it but do that one at a time.

What are you doing to this engine?

This is my first project car. I am studying auto repair, and I love Oldsmobile. I got this one from my husbands grandma, knowing it had a lifter tapping. When I got into it, I found two of the hydraulic lifters had come apart. I went ahead and replaced the cam, lifters, push rods, and a few other lesser parts. I am now putting it all back together and have found there are a few things I don't exactly remember the placement of. It doesn't help that I was dumb enough to have some people help me, and there help was less then helpful. I was just so overwhelmed when I saw all the hoses and components. Now, I know that it is a lot easier then people seem to make it out to be. I know the next time I start a project like this, NO HELP!
It also makes it a little more trying knowing this is my main means of transportation right now. The next rig I'll be working on is a Cammero of my friends, that is not operational right now, so there won't be the rush.
While slightly frustrating, this is also very exciting, and very fun!
