Where is our gasoline made these days? Can't Post

Hi I started this post to see if we could put together a list of gasoline companies and where they refine their gas. (Also where they buy it from)

I know here in NJ, their is a huge exxon / mobile refinery on the coast, but I'm not sure what is made at this location. I'll look into it a bit. There is also a Hess refinery, but I'm unsure with this one as well.

Keep you posted.

Don't know about where, but here is how much: close to $3.50! (http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5i5TtajgUpSm7KY5jf-lCJGHBB-tAD901NPEG1) talks about it peaking at $3.65 within about a month!

All most all our gasoline is refined here in the states. It is much cheaper to ship the oil here and refine here than refine the oil over seas and ship gasoline here. Here is a breakdown, I have seen this information on a couple different sites, but I would still take it with a grain of sand. Below are the numbers I found for what companies and how much oil they import.

Shell........................... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco...........................62,231,000 barrels

Sunoco...................0 barrels
Conoco..................0 barrels
Sinclair.................0 barrels
B P/Phillips............0 barrels
Hess.......................0 barrels
ARC0....................0 barrels

That's crude oil imported. Keep in mind US is an exporter too! Refining is done within the US at about only 50 different refineries - none new in the last 30 years! That's a problem alone.

NJ, LA, TX should have the huge refining places,
