Stratus trans problem Can't Post

Hi all, This is my first post, so bear with me! My son has a 95 Dodge stratus, going to school at highway speed, he hit cruise, the engine immediately pulled down and he came to a stop. He put it inpark and shut it off. Restarted and put in drive, no upshift, no reverse, acts like in two gears at once like trans brake! Now nuetral position is forward gear! Any ideas? Park pos ok. Thanks Lippy.

Re: Stratus trans problem [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Lippy,

This sounds like a real mess. I'm not too sure what could cause this but, if you plan on keeping the car (even after an expensive repair) I would have a transmission place look into this if you aren't famliar with car repair yourself.

Seems like somehow the cruise control, did something that the trans didn't like, and this could be a minor adjustment problem, or a big rebuild issue.

But for safety reasons I'm going to ask you seek a local professional on this matter.

Good luck
