Galloping 2002 Ford Taurus - tranny? Can't Post

My daughter has a 2002 Ford Taurus with 108,000 miles (formerly owned by salesman friend who maintained auto regularly). Tranny started leaking, then car started "galloping" between 60-65 mph. By galloping, it is almost like lightly putting your foot on and off gas pedal. This only happens at 60-65. A mechanic has suggested replacing the motor mounts and transmission seal and/or pan (not quite sure on this). ANY HELP ON THIS WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED. THANKS FOR THIS FORUM.

The leak aside, the trans would work normally if fluid was at proper level. This "galloping" seems more like an engine problem,
