My trans went out a while back would not go into gear and would go into reverse but when you pushed in the clutch it was like hitting the brakes. Bought a good used trans put it in goes into all gears but is making whining noise and shifts when clutch is about 1/2 why to floor, when clutch is to the floor it will not shift, and is still stopping in reverse when I push in the clutch.

Did this "used" transmission ever work? What were the symtoms of the first failed transmission?

Well not sure if this used ever worked but is under warranty for 90 days. looked at all the gears before I put it in and they looked good was no metal in the gears seemed to shift good. The old one went out going down the road herd and felt a clunk and jumped out of gear would not go in to first opened it up it ate up some of the gears and bearing was think of rebuilding it till I seen that was a mess and it also would go into reverse and stop like you hit the brakes when you pushed in the clutch. I did not replace the clutch could it be the clutch ?

Used is used as you know. You should have replaced the clutch. Also if trans going in or out is left hanging it can mess up the job by bending the clutch and they do funky things if the disc got bent -- new or used!

Thank you for your advice pulled trans and looked at clutch all was in ok shape not bad enough to cause a problem. Went and bought a new clutch kit just to make sure and still was doing the same thing stopping when I pushed in the clutch while it is in reverse so monday takeing it back. Thank you again for the advice
