92 geo metro - clutch bearing removal help Can't Post

How do you replace the Clutch bearing in a 92 metro???

I'm stuck, and am hoping somebody can help. How do I get the clutch bearing out of my 92 metro so that I can replace it? All of the bearing pulling tools that are for sale or rent are so large that they don't even come close to fitting inside the hole.

Forgive me - it's been a long time since I've been there.

Are you trying to replace the pilot bushing (bearing) or do you need a tool to remove a throw out bearing which always used to just come out without tools.??

The answer may help get you faster help here. Suggestion:Replace other common parts while your are there. Quality can really count with these. T

I believe it is the pilot bearing I am trying to remove. It is the one that is in the center of the flywheel. The auto parts stores and everyone I've asked trys to sell or rent me a pulling tool that is nowhere near able to fit inside this little thing and pull it out. I've recently had the suggestion on a dirrerent forum to take off the flywheel and tap it out from the back side, but if that is the case, is there any way to remove the flywheel with only hand tools?

To remove the flywheel bolts “By Hand” you’ll have to use a large screwdriver or some form of bar that you can jam into the teeth of the ring gear on the flywheel; then install one of the transmission bolts. Rotate the engine until the bar is against the bolt that should give you enough leverage to hold the engine still while you crack the flywheel bolts free. The torque spec is only 45 lbs. so they’re not all that tight.
