Hello,

I have a 1999 Mazda 626 4cyl. I drove the car fine yesterday, but Today, when i move the gear selector, nothing happens. the car does not go into gear. I checked the transmission fluid level and it is fine. the fluid is also not burned out, it is clear red.


The car starts fine, and engine sounds normal. there is no check engine light either. is it the transmission or it is something else? Thanks a lot for help in advance.

You need to inspect the linkage from the gear stick to the trans for any broken/damage parts before assuming the worst.
